Coming to one of our work parties? Wear sturdy shoes, long trousers and work gloves. We provide tools like shears, clippers and litter pickers, plus some longer, thick gloves for thorny work. We usually stop midway for a tea and coffee break.
We’ll be tending the wonderful range of flowers (51 different species) that Liz has got growing along the bank of the brook – a mixture of weeding, removing nettles and clearing the path.
Venue to be confirmed : Vandyke Curve or the mainline station
We’ll be weeding around the wildflowers on Platform 1 and doing some bramble bashing
We’ll be removing Himalayan Balsam.
We’ll be in shade, close to the bridge. Please bring wellies and long sleeves – there are nettles, and it’s muddy!
We’ll be helping the council to install planters near our hedge, and special sand areas for solitary bees.
We’ll be watering and cutting back around wildflowers.
