Launched in February 2006 Leighton Buzzard Library

Supported and funded by Bedfordshire Rural Transport Partnership and Bedfordshire County Council, Victoria and Stella put together a permanent display giving clear & concise local bus information.

Aimed at a general target audience it gives guidance for existing users and easy information for those who wish to use alternative forms of transport either on a regular basis or for days out. The display is positioned in a prominent area of the library and has a stand with all time-tables alongside.

It also gives a lot of information on climate change and why a modal shift is necessary, especially in an town such as Leighton-Linslade which is set to increase in size significantly and the road system simply cannot support all the traffic this growth will generate.

We had good press coverage in all the local papers, and a lot of positive feedback from Library staff and members of the public. With the help of further funding we intend to take the project into the next stage which is to produce maps for display in the High Street, bus stops, community centres and shops.
