Knaves Hill hedge

Knaves Hill hedge is situated along the curve of the road as it runs along the top of the railway embankment.


South Beds Friends of the Earth started planting the Knaves Hill hedge in 2008 on poor clay soil; for the first four years  the  shrubs  looked  very small, but they then it started to grow and the hedge is now very large and successful hedge, consisting of a wide range of  species which provide nectar and pollen for bees, and nesting and hibernating sites for insects and animals.
