Knaves Hill hedge

Knaves Hill hedge is situated along the curve of the road on the right-hand side, as it runs along the top of the railway embankment.

South Beds Friends of the Earth started planting the hedge in 2008 on poor clay soil; for the first four years  the shrubs  looked  very small, but then they started to grow and the hedge is now very mature and successful, consisting of a wide range of species which provide nectar and pollen for bees, and nesting and hibernating sites for insects and animals.
